Advanced Keyhole Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, commonly known as keyhole surgery, has been widely performed for gynaecological cases since the early 2000s. With technological advancements and increasing expertise, laparoscopy can now be done at an advanced level to treat a wide range of gynaecological conditions, such as fibroid removal, ovarian cysts removal, resection of endometriosis, investigation and treatment for fertility and full staging surgery for certain types of female cancers.

Laparoscopy involves making small incisions in the umbilicus and lower abdomen, allowing for a scope and surgical instruments to be inserted into the abdominal cavity. This allows the surgeon to have a clear view of the pelvic organs and safely perform the surgery under direct vision.

The benefits of laparoscopy include faster recovery, smaller scar, less post-op pain, lower risk of infection, shorter hospital stays, cost savings and shorter downtime. Long-term surgical complications such as scarring and chronic pain are also less common after laparoscopic surgery as compared to conventional open surgery.

Our STO+G specialists are experienced laparoscopic surgeons, many of whom were preceptors and trainers in restructured hospitals prior to starting their private practice. We offer a comprehensive range of laparoscopic surgeries to suit our patients’ needs.
